PROFILE
Ms. Sumera Shams, born on August 19, 1991, belongs to Lower Dir, district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She received her schooling from the Frontier Corps Public School, Timergara Lower Dir. Later Ms. Shams went to Jinnah Women Degree College, University of Peshawar and currently student of fifth year MBBS at the Khyber Medical University. She is a student leader and is working to empower young women and encourage them to take interest in political activities of Pakistan. She has served as the Provincial Female President Insaf Students Federation, student wing of PTI since 2009. For the entire active democratic struggle she did for women political empowerment, Ms. Shams was promoted as the Provincial Female (Women wing) Secretary Information of the party. She is working as Political, Youth and Gender equity activist since 2007 and for all this hard work she was nominated for N peace award 2015. The Bargad Youth organization also awarded her as the best youth activist of the Year 2014.
Ms. Shams represented Pakistan at the 64th International General Assembly of Medical Students at the Antalaya, Turkey in March 2015. She has also ben selected from the US Embassy for Students Leader’s Exchange Program 2016.
